Starting September 8th, Alison Bruzek, ’13, will join The New York Times‘ Opinion Audio team as a senior producer on the politically-charged series, The Argument. Formerly a supervising producer at KUOW Public Radio in Seattle, Alison has worked on public radio shows and podcasts for WBUR, PRX and Nova. At WBUR, Alison’s team nabbed a Asian American Journalists Association’s General Excellence in Radio/Audio award for their series Evictions in East Boston, as well as a Regional Murrow Award for ‘Martin Luther King Loved This City’: Remembering King’s Legacy In Boston, a piece that examines King’s last 31 hours and the immediate aftermath of the assassination. In 2016, she produced and co-hosted a five-part series called Trace Elements about the “science that connects us” that aired on the PRX podcast “Transistor.” The MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing can’t wait to see what Alison produces at the Times.
