Claudia Geib, ’16, has been named Mongabay’s inaugural Sue Palminteri Wildtech Reporting Fellow. Over the next six months, Claudia will report on the myriad ways that technology helps researchers and conservationists to protect threatened species and habitats.

“Technology has been utterly transformative in the conservation field over the past few decades, and I’m excited to both report on the incredible insights that it is providing, and take an analytical look at how tech can and does bring about real change for wildlife and their habitats,” Claudia said.

The WildTech Reporting Fellowship comes with one-on-one training and mentorship from Mongabay editors as well as a $5,000 honorarium. Claudia’s first piece focuses on how deforestation impacts the Amazon’s rarest wild dog. Congratulations, Claudia!  We look forward to seeing what’s next.
