Emily Anthes has won a 2018 Gold Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for “Why Can’t We Have the Male Pill?,” a feature story on efforts to develop a male contraception pill. Published in Bloomberg Businessweek in August of 2017, the story delves into the history of male contraceptive drugs as well as modern challenges that researchers face. In addition to being a AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award winner, Emily is also the author of Frankenstein’s Cat: Cuddling Up to Biotech’s Brave New Beasts.
