Congratulations to Fatima Husain, ’18, who was selected as an inaugural Women in Innovation and STEM Database at MIT (WISDM) fellow. Dedicated to promoting the visibility of women in the MIT academic community, the WISDM Fellowship honors 20 scientists within our community and provides them with honorariums for speaking engagements and formalized speaker training through the nonprofit science communication group Story Collider, which operates a podcast and live events.

After graduating from the GPSW in 2018, Fatima joined MIT’s Summons Lab as a geochemistry researcher and became the Curiosity Correspondent for the MIT Museum. She’s since pivoted to a Ph.D. program within the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and she hosts MIT Abstracts, a monthly web series that brings MIT research and researchers to K through 12 students around the world.

Fatima will join 20 other MIT scholars for the WISDM Fellowship.
