Internationally-renowned astronomy and physics writer Marcia Bartusiak, an MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing Professor of the Practice, published her seventh book. Dispatches from Planet 3Thirty-Two (Brief) Tales on the Solar System, the Milky Way, and Beyond contains 32 engrossing cosmological tales that shed light on the back stories of many momentous astronomical discoveries. Dispatches from Planet 3 has been called an “informative and rewarding read” by Booklist and “fascinating and binge-worthy” by Adam Riess, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Marcia Bartusiak has received the Andrew Gemant Award from the American Institute of Physics, the History of Science Society’s Davis Prize, and the American Institute of Physics Science Writing Prize. She was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and was the first woman to win an AIP science writing award.
