The 2020-2021 Report for America corps will include one familiar GPSW face. Heather Mongilio, ’18, will head to the Capital Gazette in Annapolis where she will cover military affairs at the US Naval Academy and Fort Meade. Heather along with 224 other reporters from across the country were hand-selected from a pool of more than 1,800 applicants. Report for America corps members are placed in any of 162 local newsrooms throughout the US and Puerto Rico to report on under-covered issues and communities. Heather is currently the health and Fort Detrick reporter at the Frederick News-Post in Maryland where her work focuses on domestic violence, the costs of health care, and health concerns around Frederick County.
