The list of finalists for the second-annual Covering Climate Now Climate Journalism Awards featured a couple of very familiar names. Kendra Pierre-Louis, ’16, landed on the finalist list in the Radio Podcast Series category as part of a team from How To Save A Planet, a solutions-oriented podcast on Spotify that’s dedicated to explaining the complexities of the climate crisis and what listeners can do to help.

Iris Crawford, ’22, also landed on the finalist list in the Industry Innovation category as part of a team from The Uproot Project, a network for journalists of color who cover environmental issues. Launched early in 2021, the organization support services for environmental journalists, including reporting stipends and public events designed to bring climate editors together with journalists of color and to explore issues like climate change solutions and covering indigenous communities.

Finalists for the Covering Climate Now Climate Journalism Awards were selected from 900 entries submitted from 65 countries. A jury will meet in May to select the winners. We’re pulling for you, Kendra and Iris!
