For the third time, GPSW Professor of the Practice Emeritus Marcia Bartusiak is the co-winner of the American Institute of Physics Science Communication Award in the Book category.  She won for her most recent collection of essays Dispatches from Planet 3. From the press release, “In her comprehensive compilation of astronomical stories, Bartusiak delves into the untold back stories of momentous astronomical discoveries and presents a profound understanding of the nature of the universe.” Judges called the book “well-written and accessible.” Bartusiak shares the award with author David L. Hu who also scooped up an AIP accolade for How to Walk on Water and Climb Up Walls. You can read about all of the 2019 Science Communication Award winners here.
