Congratulations to Megan Scudellari, ’08, for scooping up a 2019 Excellence in Health Care Journalism Award from the Association of Health Care Journalists. Megan won a second place prize in the Trade Publications / Newsletters category for “Protein-Slaying Drugs Could Be the Next Blockbuster Therapies,” a news feature published in the March 20, 2019 edition of Nature. Diving into why researchers are increasingly using an emerging class of drugs called proteolysis-targeting chimeras to fight Alzheimer’s and intractable cancers, the piece addresses the scientific mechanisms of these drugs, the historic backdrop that gave rise to them, and the potential of this novel line of research. The full list of winners is available here and you can read more award-winning work in Megan’s portfolio here. Congratulations Megan!
