Zahra Hirji is a climate reporter at Bloomberg Green. Previously, Zahra was a senior science reporter at BuzzFeed News and a 2018 Ida B. Wells Fellow at Type Investigations, where she reported on worker safety and discrimination in the oil and gas industry. Prior to her work at BuzzFeed, Zahra was a staff reporter at Inside Climate News, where she was part of the reporting team that won the 2015 Society of Environmental Journalists’ Kevin Carmody Award for a series on the dangers of air pollution from fracking. Her bylines can also be found in Discovery News and EARTH Magazine. Zahra graduated from the GPSW in 2013.
