Brittany Flaherty Payne is a Boston-based science journalist. Driven by abundant curiosity and a firm belief in the power of storytelling, Brittany writes about all aspects of science. She is especially interested in medicine, health, and ecology. Brittany studied biology, environmental science, and English at William Smith College. After graduation, she received a Fulbright grant and wrote about water quality and natural resource management. She then wrote about cancer research for a hospital in Boston for six years. Brittany is also passionate about movement and the outdoors. She spends her spare time running along the Charles River, teaching yoga, or skiing in Vermont.
