Christina Couch is a freelance journalist and Assistant Director of Professional Development for the MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing. She was a Fall 2020 Education Writers Association Reporting Fellow, where she covered federal, state, and private efforts to expand science education within US prisons and the scarce pathways into the sciences available to formerly incarcerated individuals. Her writing can be found in The New York Times, Fast Company, The Verge, Smithsonian, Hakai Magazine, Atlas Obscura, NOVA Next, Science Friday, Mental Floss Magazine, and elsewhere
