Eva Frederick grew up pressing wildflowers in her parents’ encyclopedias and collecting snails from the bottom of her garden. Now, as a science writer, Eva channels her love for nature and the environment into telling stories. A former managing editor of the University of Texas at Austin’s student newspaper The Daily Texan, Eva holds degrees from UT in journalism and biology. She’s interned for Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine, the MIT School of Engineering Communications Department, and Undark magazine, and has freelanced for publications such as Texas Shores, Science Writers Magazine, Eos, and GeoSpace. Eva plans to work in print journalism in the future, although she enjoys working in other media such as video, audio, and photography. In her free time, Eva enjoys hiking, cooking vegan meals, and growing tomato plants in her hydroponic garden. Follow her on Twitter @evacharlesanna or view her work at Evafrederick.com.
