Vishva Nalamalapu

Ecology, geology, social justice

Vishva Nalamalapu grew up in the gentle forests and rocky coasts of southern Maine. She studied ecology at Grinnell College, where she spent one summer researching what makes some drought-vulnerable plants more likely to survive than others, and the next summer communicating ecology and geology at Rocky Mountain National Park. After graduating, she worked in Grinnell College’s communications office and as an environmental educator at the North Cascades Institute.

At MIT, Vishva is excited to think even bigger about how science relates to other realms of life, to continue making her writing more inclusive, and to expand the number of formats and mediums through which she communicates science.
